Description

Ben Caplan is a songwriter, singer, and performer based in Halifax, NS. He has been touring heavily since 2011 and has played over 1600 concerts in 28 countries since that time. His most recent project was the theatrical production, Old Stock: A Refugee Love Story, co-created with Christian Barry and Hannah Moscovitch and produced by Halifax's 2b Theatre Company. The music from that project is captured on Caplan's third studio album, Old Stock. The project was awarded the 2018 Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia Masterworks Arts Award. The songwriting on that project also earned Caplan the 2019 East Coast Music Award for songwriter of the year along with other awards and accolades.

Ben is currently getting back to his roots by playing solo shows around the Maritimes. He is also working on a new solo album. When he is not touring, recording, writing, or doing administrative work related to touring, recording, and writing, Ben enjoys eating, drinking, sleeping, and reading books.

Our auditorium is currently spaced to accommodate social distancing. This means our tickets are limited compared to our typical capacity. Masks are also now mandatory in all public spaces in Nova Scotia. We send out all the thanks in the world for helping us to operate while also offering a safe and healthy performance space. Your patience, kindness, and support don't go without recognition!
